Recuperarla en nuestros huertos escolares es una forma de aprender, cuidar la biodiversidad y reconectar con nuestra alimentaci\u00f3n. Su recuperaci\u00f3n forma parte del proyecto Guardianes de Semillas de la RHES desde el curso 20\/21 \u00a1Ya hemos conseguido 159.800 semillas, muchas de ellas han vuelto a las huertas de la RHES en forma de plantel en oto\u00f1o!<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>El inicio del \u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong>cultivo de la lechuga<\/strong><\/span> (<em>Lactuca sativa<\/em>) tuvo lugar en <span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong>Oriente Pr\u00f3ximo<\/strong><\/span>, hace 4.000-6.000 a\u00f1os a partir de especies silvestres. Los <span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong>egipcios<\/strong> <\/span>las cultivaban originalmente por sus semillas oleaginosas, extrayendo <strong><span style=\"color: #666699\">aceite<\/span> <\/strong>para cocinar\u00a0 y posteriormente seleccionaron plantas con hojas m\u00e1s grandes y tiernas como <span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong>hortaliza de hoja<\/strong><\/span>. La introducci\u00f3n en la <span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong>Pen\u00ednsula<\/strong><\/span> se cree que tuvo lugar con la <span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong>romanizaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/span>, y desde entonces la lechuga se integra en la <span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong>agricultura tradicional<\/strong><\/span> ib\u00e9rica. Surgiendo <span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong>m\u00e1s de 100 variedades en la Pen\u00ednsula Ib\u00e9rica<\/strong><\/span>, muchas de ellas cayeron en desuso en los a\u00f1os 80, al ser desplazadas por los h\u00edbridos comerciales, lo que provoco una p\u00e9rdida de biodiversidad agr\u00edcola.<\/p>\n<p>La lechuga morondilla de Perales de Taju\u00f1a es una variedad tradicional madrile\u00f1a ligada a las huertas del <strong>valle del Taju\u00f1a<\/strong>, donde el cultivo de hortalizas ha sido hist\u00f3ricamente fundamental. Se caracteriza por forma <strong>cogollos compactos<\/strong>, de <strong>hojas tiernas y sabor suave<\/strong>, muy apreciadas en el consumo fresco.<\/p>\n<p>Esta variedad tradicional de Perales de Taju\u00f1a\u00a0 entr\u00f3 a \u00a0formar parte del proyecto de Guardianes de Semillas el curso escolar 20\/21, gracias a una cesi\u00f3n de semillas del <a href=\"https:\/\/werto.es\/\">Huerto Urbano Comunitario de Manoteras<\/a>, que a su vez las hab\u00eda conseguido en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mataderomadrid.org\/programacion\/jornadas-de-intercambio-de-semillas-2026\">las jornadas de intercambio de semillas del Matadero.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong><u>\u00bfCu\u00e1ntas semillas hemos recolectado en la RHES?<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A partir de las primeras semillas obtenidas del Huerto Urbano Comunitario de Manoteras el equipo educativo de la RHES cultivo esta variedad el <a href=\"https:\/\/diario.madrid.es\/cieaelretiro\/\">CEA El Retiro<\/a> en el curso 19\/20 obteniendo 500 semillas. Una parte de ellas fueron entregadas a los centros guardianes del curso siguiente, y hasta hoy menos conseguido 159.800 semillas. Las semillas recolectadas se entregan al <a href=\"https:\/\/www.madrid.es\/portales\/munimadrid\/es\/Inicio\/El-Ayuntamiento\/Parques-y-jardines\/Patrimonio-Verde\/Parques-en-Madrid\/Vivero-Estufas-de-El-Retiro\/?vgnextfmt=default&amp;vgnextoid=00be21c051f2f210VgnVCM2000000c205a0aRCRD&amp;vgnextchannel=38bb1914e7d4e210VgnVCM1000000b205a0aRCRD\">Vivero de Estufas del Retiro<\/a> que produce el plantel para la RHES.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #666699\"><strong><u>\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo sembramos la lechuga morondilla de Perales de Taju\u00f1a? \u00bfC\u00f3mo se cultiva?<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Se trata de una variedad de oto\u00f1o-primavera, subi\u00e9ndose a flor con el aumento de las temperaturas. La sembraremos en septiembre en semillero y realizaremos el trasplante al huerto en octubre-noviembre.
